PrintVietnam to host 47th SEAMEC Conference
Update 19/03/2013 - 08:49:46 AM (GMT+7)The 47th Southeast Asian Minster of Education Council (SEAMEC) Conference will be held in Hanoi from March 19-23.
This is the 2nd time, Vietnam hosts the event, which is a platform for ASEAN Education Ministers to discuss initiatives and policies regarding this field.
During this year’s conference, ASEAN Education Ministers will focus discussions on two major issues, namely the building of learning societies and joint efforts towards ASEAN Community by 2015.
According to Pham Manh Hung, Deputy Minister of Education and Training, the UK will officially become an Associate Member Country of the Southeast Asian Minister of Education Organization (SEAMEO).
The Vietnamese Minister of Training and Education will serve as President of SEAMEO council in the 2013-2015 period.
Established in 1965, SEAMEO is an inter-governmental organization of Southeast Asian countries to promote regional cooperation in education, science and culture in the region.
