PrintVietnam wins big at WICO 2019
Update 30/07/2019 - 08:05:59 AM (GMT+7)Two innovations of Vietnamese students won gold medals at the World Invention Creativity Olympic (WICO) 2019 in the Republic of Korea.
The two innovations have been made by six students from Giang Vo Secondary School (Ba Dinh district, Hanoi), two from the Cau Giay Secondary School (Cau Giay, Hanoi), and one from the Chu Van An High School (Tay Ho, Hanoi).
The two innovations, namely the use of yeast to address oil pollution and the use of silver nanoparticles to boost capacity of solar-powered water distillers, were highly valued for their creativity and practicality by the organization panel.

The two innovations also won special prizes for the Best Invention category from the University of Thailand and the Indonesian Young Scientists’ Association.
WICO is an annual invention and creativity contest organized by the Korea University Invention Association and sponsored by the parliament of the Republic of Korea for secondary and high school students worldwide to present their innovations that can be applied in reality.
This year’s event took place from July 25 to 27 at the Seoul Trade Exhibition Center in Seoul, the Republic of Korea.
