PrintVietnam wins medals at International Informatics Olympiad
Update 01/10/2012 - 09:08:32 AM (GMT+7)All four members of the Vietnamese team have won medals at the 24th International Olympiad in Informatics, held in Italy from September 22-30.
Nguyen Viet Dung and Vu Dinh Quang from Hanoi and Nguyen Tuan Anh from Hai Phong city each bagged a silver medal, while Nguyen Huu Thanh from Da Nang city was awarded a bronze one.Vietnam’s Olympiad teams have recorded remarkable achievements in this year’s regional and international contests, as this is the first time all 31 students from six teams have won medals.
Earlier, Vietnam won a gold medal, two silver medals and a bronze one at the 44th International Chemistry Olympiad (ICHO) in the US in July this year.
Also in July, the country’s mathematical team ranked 9th at the 53rd International Mathematical Olympiad in Argentina, winning a gold medal, three silver medals and two bronze ones.
