PrintIntel to grant $112,000 in scholarships to local students
Update 17/09/2012 - 08:44:44 AM (GMT+7)The Vietnam business arm of U.S. chipmaker Intel will present 360 scholarships worth VND2.3 billion (US$112,000) to local female students of technical majors from now until 2014.
Intel Products Vietnam said during a ceremony held Wednesday in Ho Chi Minh City that VND6.5 million ($312) will be awarded to each selected student, who must be enrolled in junior college courses in the city, Dong Nai Province, or Can Tho City.
Applicants must be in their third year at designated schools and have good academic performance together with an active record of extra-curricular activities and community service.
Those facing financial difficulty will be given high priority.

This is part of an engineering education alliance program run by Intel and a number of other partners to provide financial aid to female students while encouraging them to study technical disciplines.
