PrintCan Tho lifts education cooperation with UK
Update 01/03/2016 - 07:53:24 AM (GMT+7)Can Tho is desirous of hoisting cooperation with the UK in tertiary education through more student, lecturer and expert exchange programs, higher levels of scholarship and grants and establishing joint research institutes.
Can Tho city people’s committee Chairman Vo Thanh Thong made the announcement at a February 26 welcoming reception for visiting UK Ambassador to Vietnam Giles Lever.
Ambassador Lever said the UK currently awards some 10 scholarships and grants to Vietnam students through the Chevening Fund annually and he anticipates the amount of this financial assistance will increase sufficiently to accommodate 30 students this year.
In addition, Vietnamese students can also get financial assistance and receive diplomas from UK universities by undertaking courses of study in Vietnam through a variety of programs launched by the British Council.
