PrintBuilding the Vietnamese-German University as an exemplary university: VFF President
Update 27/10/2015 - 08:04:33 AM (GMT+7)Vietnam and Germany will work together to ensure the Vietnamese-German University is an exemplary university in the the strategic partnership between the two countries.
Politburo member and President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee, Prof. Nguyen Thien Nhan made the statement at the opening ceremony of the university’s 2015-2016 academic year in Binh Duong province’s Binh Duong New City on October 23.
The Vietnamese-German University is one of the examples reflecting Vietnam’s determination in enhancing radical and comprehensive renovations in education oriented towards international integration, VFF President Nhan said.
Expressing delight at the university’s comprehensive development over the past few years, the Politburo member reiterated Vietnam’s efforts for the university to contribute to boosting the country’s international integration and improving the status of Vietnam’s tertiary education in the region and around the world.
On the occasion, the VFF President Nhan thanked the World Bank, the German government and Germany’s universities and professors for their active assistances in the process of constructing and developing the Vietnamese-German University.
The university has trained over 1,400 students with four tertiary-level and seven masters-level programmes since it debuted seven years ago. So far, 17 laboratories have been successfully built at the university for its 11 training programmes.
From now to 2021, the Vietnamese-German University will implement training programmes in six disciplines: electronics and telecommunications, mechanics, construction and architecture, environmental techniques and processing, economics and management, and computer science. After 2021, the university will expand its training to the fields of natural sciences and social sciences aiming to meet Vietnam’s demand for human resource development.
