PrintVietnam to host 2016 International Biology Olympiad
Update 04/09/2014 - 11:37:26 AM (GMT+7)Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam has recently signed a decision to approve the hosting of the 2016 International Biology Olympiad in Hanoi in July of that year.
The 26th International Biology Olympiad is scheduled to be held from July 17 to 24 with the participation of 70 delegations from 70 countries and territories around the world.
A committee tasked with organizing the 2016 competition will also be set up, under the lead of the Minister of Education and Training.
The project requires the participation of relevant ministries and agencies to ensure that the event is effective, and leaves a good impression on international visitors.
First held in 1990, the International Biology Olympiad is a science Olympiad for high school students under the age of 20.
The annual academic contest has gradually expanded to include roughly 70 participating countries.
Last year, the Vietnamese delegation won one silver medal and three bronzes at the 25th International Biology Olympiad in Indonesia.
