Update 25/06/2014 - 08:09:58 AM (GMT+7)Professor Alan Kerzner, a renowned American marketing consultant who is president of numerous business groups in the U.S., will chair a workshop in Ho Chi Minh City this week.
At the “How to succeed in the U.S.?” event jointly held by the Institute for Global Student Success and the International Education Institute under the Vietnam National University – Ho Chi Minh City, Prof. Kerzner will talk with local students who are planning to study in the U.S. about ways to overcome difficulties and gain success in studying as well as building careers in the North American country.
Specifically, according to the organizers, the professor will cover three major topics that are useful not just for students who are going to study in the U.S. but for the increasing number of young professionals and enterprises who are becoming increasingly engaged in global business with the United States.
The first topic will be a review of the situation in America for international students in general and Vietnamese students at large.
This section will take a look at the reasons why Vietnamese students choose to study in the U.S., their success in achieving their goals, and a status report of the employment and working visa circumstances in the U.S.
The second will review and practice some of the skills, practices and awareness that are necessary for any individual – student, young professional or executive – to perform successfully in the United States.
These will include discussions of some cultural differences regarding greetings, networking and how to begin thinking about positioning oneself for success.
The last one will be an introduction of a program run by the Institute for Global Student Success, providing year-long instructions and mentoring for individuals, enabling them to succeed academically, socially, and professionally.
Additionally, the workshop’s participants will have the chance to receive scholarships worth 60 percent of their tuition from the Institute for Global Student Success.
With 30 years of experience in the business industry, Prof. Kerzner has worked with famous global brands like Procter & Gamble and Johnson & Johnson.
He is founder and CEO of the Institute for Global Student Success; founder and president of the Business Growth Associates; corporate vice president of marketing at Hartz Mountain Corporation and a marketing consultant at many enterprises.
