PrintNew Zealand offers graduate scholarships to Vietnamese students
Update 20/03/2013 - 08:12:14 AM (GMT+7)The New Zealand government is recruiting Vietnamese candidates for 30 scholarships to study for a master’s or doctoral degree in the Australasian nation, with programs beginning early next year.
Successful applicants are entitled to return air travel, full tuition fees, establishment allowances, a living stipend to cover day-to-day costs, medical and travel insurance, and reunion airfares for unaccompanied awardees.
Suggested fields of study include education, tourism, trade and business development, agriculture and rural development, environment, governance, among others.
Candidates, under 40 for master’s candidates and under 45 for PhD applications, must be from public institutions, NGOs, and the private sector throughout Vietnam.
A recognized bachelor’s degree for master’s candidates and master’s degree for PhD applicants together with a minimum of two years work experience and an unconditional offer of place from a tertiary institution in New Zealand are also required.
Entrants must submit two applications in English (one original and one copy), including a copy of the letter of offer from a New Zealand tertiary institution, directly to the New Zealand Embassy in Hanoi by July 1.

This scholarship program is part of New Zealand’s official development assistance to Southeast Asian nations.
Similar awards are also allocated to students from Myanmar, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand.
