Microsoft kicks off internship program for Vietnamese students

Update 06/03/2013 - 07:52:41 AM (GMT+7)

Microsoft Vietnam launched Monday a program, the Intern to Microsoft Academy College Hires, to seek talented Vietnamese students for internships at the U.S. giant tech firm.

The program is organized simultaneously in Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Malaysia.

Participants will compete in Microsoft’s offices in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City to win internship positions lasting from May to August.

They will have to put forward topics, engage in group discussions, and give presentations before the judges.

“The most excellent students will intern for two to three months in a professional and innovative environment at Microsoft Vietnam and Singapore,” Vu Minh Tri, general director of Microsoft Vietnam, said.

Tri added that selected participants will have a chance to work with Microsoft staff in finance, sales, marketing and technology.

“This is where they can apply what they have learned to real situations, perfect themselves, improve skills, and make the most of their own potential,” the executive said.

Outstanding interns may be recruited as Microsoft employees and given a place in another two-year MACH training program.

MACH is intended to provide long-term talent development for top new university graduates in sales, marketing, and services divisions at Microsoft.
