Irish graduate scholarships open to local candidates

The Embassy of Ireland in Hanoi is seeking Vietnamese candidates for up to 20 scholarships to study full-time master’s courses in the European country in the 2013-14 academic year.

Such majors as medicine, biotechnology, and information technology are now available to applicants who are working in the fields at public universities and government agencies.

Up to two scholarships to study applied language are also open to local English teachers at a number of designated schools.

The total number of scholarships will range from 10 to 20, depending on the calibre of the candidates and the available budget.

Scholarship winners will be awarded with airfare, full tuition, health insurance, living costs, and book and clothing fees during their stay in Ireland.

Applicants must be a graduate in a relevant discipline with a minimum GPA of 7.0/10, have two years of work experience, and has scored well on the TOEFL or IELTS tests.

Successful candidates who cannot meet the English requirements may be sponsored to follow improvement courses.

Applications must be submitted to the Embassy of Ireland at the 2nd Floor, Sentinel Place, 41A Ly Thai To Street, Hanoi by March 1.
