Australian graduate scholarships for Vietnamese applicants

The Australian government is accepting applications from Vietnamese candidates for its Australia Awards Scholarships, with up to 175 such grants to be available in 2014, to study in master’s or PhD programs of the 2015 intake at prestigious Australian universities

Applicants can be any of the following categories: local government officials, staff from local NGOs, staff of provincial enterprises, central agency officials, tertiary education institution lecturers (including TESOL) and researchers.

Candidates must have at least two years of relevant recent work experience in Vietnam, except for disadvantaged applicants who are required to have at least 12 months of relevant work experience, and meet the requirements for PhD and master’s degrees by research studies.

All candidates must commit to return to work in their home country for at least two years after finishing their programs.

Awardees will be assessed for their professional and personal qualities, academic competence, and their potential to contribute to development in Vietnam.

The scholarships will cover full tuition, return air travel expenses, an establishment allowance, contributions to living expenses, and other benefits.

Preferred majors available to Vietnamese applicants are economics, public policy, construction, environment, agriculture, education, community development, human resource development, public health, transnational crime, among others.
